Severne Snap-Up Aeberli
Severne Welcome Swiss born multi-talent Daniel ‘Choco’ Aeberli onto their International Team…
With a strong R&D background with board brand F2, his own brand of fins, and former sail sponsor North, Daniel’s ready to put his skills to a new test.
Daniel’s extensive experience sailing in flat water, chop or the bone-crunching waves of Western Australia, adds valuable feedback to the development of Severne sails, whose continuing aim is to make sails for riders, by riders.
'For me, Severne is one of the most revolutionary sail brand on the market’, said Daniel on announcing the news.
'I know the guys behind the scene really well and I am impressed about the work they do. After much testing, especially the Code RED race sails, I have to say that I’m really stoked about their performance and believe they are more than just competitive.
For me personally it is a real pleasure to work with the Severne R&D team while also working full time for F2 and giving them as much knowledge support and feedback as I can.
After 9 years with North sails I feel it is time for me to move on. I do like North sails a lot and I would like to thank them for the great time and all the support they have given me through the years.
But, as the Severne slogan says, “sails for the revolution” I’m really happy be part of that movement.
Together with the young Severne team I believe we can reach the goal to be one of the best sail brands in the world.
I love to develop windsurfing equipment to make it perform better and improve windsurfing for everyone day by day.
On the other side it is very important for me to compete. I get a lot of personal satisfaction to see my gear is competitive and working well, plus it is a lot of fun to compete with the best guys in the world.
This year, I will enter PWA slalom events, the speed tour, a few Swiss national events plus all the windsurf festivals in Holland and Germany. So my schedule's already looking super full.
With so much happening it’s hard to concentrate on everything at one time, but I am really happy with my life and I cant think of doing anything else.
Switzerland is my home and I really enjoy sailing together with my friends on our lakes. My favorite place in Europe is Lake Garda. Outside Europe, in wintertime the Australian west coast is my absolute favorite place.’
