Gran Canaria Wind & Waves Festival

The eighth day of the Gran Canaria Wind & Waves Festival saw the first half on the Youth’s Super Session contest completed with the Boy’s U13s and U15s and the Girl’s U15s, U17s and U20s battle it out in howling winds.

In the Boy’s U13s+15s Carlos Kiefer Quintana (Fanatic / Duotone) claimed the top spot on the podium after landing a brilliant backloop, while Hayata Ishii (Goya Windsurfing / RRD Sails), who won the U15s contest earlier in the week, took home second place just ahead of Tobias Bjørnaa (Fanatic / Duotone).

Isabel Delgado (Goya Windsurfing) won the Girl’s U15s super session ahead of Alexia Kiefer Quintana (Fanatic / Duotone) and Maria Morales (Goya Windsurfing) with a forward loop and all the girl’s progressed into the U17s and U20s Super Final, which was eventually won by Mar de Arce (Star-Fish / Loftsails), who landed a stalled forward.

Tomorrow will see the Boy’s battling it out in the U17s and U20s fleets to conclude the 2019 Gran Canaria Wind & Waves Festival. The skippers’ meeting for the Super Session will be held at 12pm (GMT+1) on Saturday.
